If you scroll the vine to the far left (so just the edge is visible, you now have two transports on the screen: the vine and the tube. However, this player took advantage of an area where the designers allowed two transports to be onscreen at the same time. For example, in most places, there is only one tube that you can go down, or one vine that you can climb. In most cases, this is okay because only one transport is available on a given screen. Only one memory area was available to identify the destination of a given transport. Transports are things like vines and tubes. The designers had to cut a few corners, and one was this: For any given screen, only one "tranport" destination was available. It was designed to run on the NES system, which was no powerhouse. It did not run on 64-bit hardware with 2GB of RAM. Super Mario Brothers was not an advanced game compared to current standards. I'm sure you'll enjoy this one.įor all of you geniuses who say: "I always used the vine to get to the warp zone," listen up. Thanks to everyone at SDA who supported me. I give a lot of credit to Scott for achieving a run played perfectly (within the second) without the use of alternate pipe glitches and the walljump. After seeing his near perfect run, I wanted to completely perfect the game. Scott's run made me decide to push this game to its limits. I also want to thank those who encouraged me to keep trying to improve my run even after playing near perfect, including Scott, Trevor, Stanski, and many others. If it weren't for him, a run like this probably wouldn't have been seen for a long while. 1.įirst off, I'd like to thank my brother for helping me figure out a faster way of beating the game. I believe that this may be a perfect time by Speeddemosarchive's timing of Super Mario Bros. Available in five versions: low/normal quality DivX, and normal/high/low quality H.264 MPEG-4.
